Kalie & Cody took pampas grass goals to the highest standard. This modern & beachy approach to floral design made everything look like a soft and whispy fairytale. The approaching storms added to the drama of the day. We are still swooning over their florals and design!
How they met – the miracles of social media. Cody very romantically slid into Kalie’s DM’s one day, commenting on the beautiful deer which was her hunting trophy from the day. Their next step was a shotgun to true love.
What Kalie thought was going to be a double date, turned out to be the day she said yes to forever with Cody. He had spelled the words “Marry Me” in seashells on the beach.
Kalie couldn’t wait to marry the love of her life surrounded by all of their family and friends. She planned through the pandemic and kept a positive attitude throughout. Like many of our covid-planning brides, Kalie’s vision of family connections, with long runs of farmhouse tables, was going to be compromised with the need to keep the tables 8 feet apart. It was a tough reality for Kalie. Corrine texted her late one evening, about 2 weeks before her wedding saying “tables can be pushed together!” to which Kalie responded with “texting my florist right now to change the runners!” We all laughed about it. We were glad they were able to be pushed together because our barn was transformed into something beautiful that day.
When we asked Kalie why she and Cody decided to have their wedding at Hopkins Heartland her response was “The Heartland provides the FULL wedding weekend package. Rehearsal dinner on sight, the bridge ceremony, the inn to stay at all weekend, and the barn reception.. it doesn’t get better than that! The amazing Hopkins Heartland team solidified our decision!”
Kalie’s advice to future couples is to slow down and not to sweat the small stuff (you know, like when the clouds turn black and a storm is about to hit right after the ceremony but then passes right over and you get epic photos instead). Wedding planning goes fast, and in Kalie’s words “Remember the reason for the event and what truly matters!”
Kalie and Cody, you two sweethearts have a beautiful life together, and we are so happy we got to be a small part of your story! Stories like yours are what makes this farm such a special place.
