Rustic – Glam Wedding, Lewes DE | Krissy + Chris

Krissy + Chris 8/15/2020

Seriously adorable, with an instant feeling of love. Krissy had been planning the wedding of her dreams since she met Chris in 2013 and COVID was not about to ruin it for her. Krissy, the ultimate resourceful bride who didn’t want to leave out any of the extra,  spent the whole day Thursday decorating the barn exactly how she envisioned it. By utilizing multiple rental companies, and having the entire weekend to create her vision, She pulled off a stunner. She even did all of her floral arrangements! The Barn was breathtaking.

Chris and Krissy met when a mutual friend introduced them at a skim competition. Chris, a Dewey lifeguard, said it was “love at first sight” for him (swoon). Chris took the first chance he got and immediately asked Krissy out for Valentine’s Day date. Krissy said she spent the whole following summer living with his family in Dewey, fell in love with them and him and the rest is history!

A few one-bedroom apartments, fur-babies, one house, and SEVEN YEARS LATER… Chris pretended as if they had a birthday dinner to go to. His cousin, who was one of the groomsman, wanted to take pictures on the jetty before dinner.  Chris proposed while they were taking pictures, and had a professional photographer hiding in the background capturing every moment. Turns out the birthday dinner was a hoax, and both of their entire families and close friends were waiting for them with champagne at the restaurant to celebrate. They were able to see the whole thing from the top of the restaurant. Krissy said it was “A dream come true proposal, that’s for sure!” Chris even made sure her nails were done!

When we asked Krissy what moment she was looking forward to the most on her wedding day, she responded with “The first look with Chris, and walking down the aisle with my dad. Those were two moments I dreamt about my entire life! The Covered Bridge made both of those moments so beautiful, with the long dramatic aisle from the Inn to the bridge”.

Krissy and Chris met in Sussex County, so they both agreed that they really wanted to get married down here. Krissy said she loved how many different areas CBI offered- “It was like three different venues in one!” She said it meant so much to them to have a mini-wedding vacation with our bridal party all weekend.

Planning a wedding is stressful, but planning a wedding during an unexpected global pandemic was like nothing Krissy and Chris ever experienced before. Krissy said “There comes a point where you have to drop everything and literally go with the flow and if this means revising the seating chart 12 times up until the week before the wedding, so be it and remember that you’re here to marry your best friend and start your life together.” We LOVE this piece of advice to tell our future couples.

Another great piece of advice from Krissy and Chris is “You probably hear it all of the time, but try to take it all in. Take it slow. Take a deep breath. Look around at your guests, family, and loved ones. It goes by so fast, but those little moments you’ll vividly remember forever”.

Thank you Krissy and Chris, for choosing us to be a part of your Rustic-Glam wedding!
