No better place to marry a Hopkins than at Hopkins

Some weddings at Hopkins Heartland just hit a little closer to home and Amy and Pete’s Fourth of July wedding was quite literally a family affair. 

Amy is the sister of Hopkins Heartland owner, Ingrid Hopkins, and the Hopkins property has been their family farm for 7 generations. So watching Amy walk down the aisle and celebrate her marriage to Pete on the very farm that means so much to their family made this day feel completely different from an ordinary wedding weekend.

And if you know Amy, you know her connection to the farm goes even further. She’s the one behind the Hopkins Farm Mini Market and is currently working toward opening the official market, bringing yet another piece of the Hopkins family story to life right here on the farm.

104 Degrees & Still One Heck of a Party

We’re not going to sugarcoat it, it was HOT. Like, 104 degrees on the Fourth of July hot.

But somehow, it didn’t slow this crew down one bit.

And ice cream from Hopkins Ice Creamery of course helped cool everyone down! Another full family circle moment.

Amy and Pete said “I do” surrounded by family and friends with the cornfields and farm as their backdrop, and then everyone headed into the barn for a night that felt exactly like them — colorful, relaxed, fun and full of personality.

And once Blue Label Band got started, the party was ON. They were absolutely incredible and kept the dance floor going all night. You would have never guessed everyone had just survived a 104-degree day!

The Food Deserves Its Own Moment

Retro Street Eats absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Not only was everything delicious, but the presentation was beautiful. The colorful flowers, fresh fruit, wooden displays and overflowing spread fit the day perfectly. It was one of those setups that you almost don’t want anyone to touch because it’s so pretty… almost. 

A Different Kind of Wedding Day for Ingrid

One of our favorite parts of the entire weekend was seeing Ingrid experience Hopkins Heartland from the other side.

Normally, she’s behind the scenes making sure weddings on the farm run smoothly. This time, she got to be the sister of the bride.

She got to celebrate, spend time with her family, enjoy the music, eat the food and watch her sister get married on the farm they both love. That alone made this wedding one we’ll always remember.

Home Really Is the Best Place to Celebrate

There was something extra special about seeing Amy and Pete standing together in front of the barn, celebrating with the people they love on Hopkins family land.

This wasn’t simply a beautiful venue they chose for their wedding.

It was home.

And between the family history, the 4th of July details, the incredible food, a packed dance floor and a couple who didn’t let a 104-degree day stop them from having the best time, Amy and Pete’s wedding was one for the books.
