I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying.

Kyleigh and Greg may share a love of Bethany Beach, but they said “I do”, through waves of happy tears, at Hopkins Heartland, on a gorgeous & sunny day. April 3, 2021.

The tears for this crew began on day one. When the parents of the bride and groom, the bride & groom themselves, (and even me, Innkeeper Ingrid) shared some tears of overwhelming happiness during the venue tour, we knew this was going to be a wedding to remember.

Kyleigh and Greg met and fell in love in Bethany Beach. They both spent their summers in Bethany, and never knew that they were separate by just a few umbrellas! By the summer of 2020, Bethany Beach became their second home as they jumped into the Jeep on Friday nights to head down.

The Jeep. The Farm. The Sunset.

After a hot sunkissed day at the beach, they headed out for shrimp tacos and margs. With the family close at hand, Greg got down on one knee and asked those 4 special words. They have had the love and support of their family through every step, and they are so grateful. That night, they all raised their glasses of Margaritas to cheers to the rest of their lives, together.

Now, you’d think that a beach wedding was in their future, but life has a way of opening some unexpected windows. You see, Kyleigh and her mom Toni are cycle instructors in PA, and the cycle trainer for the studio happens to also own a wedding venue ( yup, that’s ME!) I had known Kyleigh and Toni for a few years professionally in the fitness world. They decided to come out to the farm and take a look and NEVER expected to fall in love with the place. It was apparent right away that not only did we have a connection to each other, but they were also drawn to the raw beauty of the farm. It was at our final moments of the venue tour that the tears began to fall.

I’m not crying… you’re crying.

Seeing Gregs copious waterworks was such a highlight for all of the vendors, family, and friends. He absolutely could not contain his overwhelming love for his bride, and he will be remembered forever for his tears of joy. The love between Kyleigh and Greg is like a fairy tale, and I was honored to be part of their story.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime “Secret Handshake” moment.
Perfect.

We always ask for a few words of advice from our bride to help out any newly engaged couples who may want to host their celebration at Hopkins Heartland.

“Don’t be discouraged by your typical timeline. We chose a date that only allowed us 8 months to plan. Trust me- 8 months is plenty! Working with Ingrid & Corrine, we were able to book all of our top vendors. It can be hard to nail down every decision within the first 3 months. Just go with the flow and don’t forget to enjoy the process”

When we asked Kyleigh what moment she was most looking forward to, she said “Seeing each other for the first time as I walk down the aisle with my dad by my side. Then to hold Greg’s hand while Greg’s grandfather marries us.”

First look with Dad. So. Much. Crying.
Fierce Love.
